Joyce earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from St. Louis University in 1983 and started her career at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center the year prior to her graduation. While in nursing school she worked at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center; post-partum unit as well as the float pool at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Kirkwood, Missouri. Her pediatric clinical experience includes ages 0-26 years of varying illnesses and diseases as a floor nurse and in the critical care float pool. She also worked in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit where she eventually became the NICU Educator and assisted with transport of critically ill infants.
Joyce joined Intracorp’s Medical Case Management Team in 1987 where she worked throughout the states of Missouri and Illinois in pediatrics, high risk ob and workers compensation.  Joyce received certification in case management in June of 1997.  Later that year she formed Primary Pediatric Management which eventually became Health Management Connect; a case management firm serving adult, pediatric and perinatal populations.  Additional certification includes Certified Professional Utilization Review; April 2002.

She is a member of the Case Management Society of America and belongs to both the St. Louis and Kansas City, Missouri Chapters. She has been an active member of the St. Louis Chapter Executive Board and earned the distinction of Case Manager of the Year 2004; St. Louis Chapter. She was appointed to the West County Small Business Advisory Board for US Bank in 2005.
